Redundancy is standard
Critical audio and video paths get a backup. Presentations are held in two places. Radio microphones get spares in the rack. None of that is an upsell, it is the difference between a delay and a disaster.
Crew
An operator is assigned to every discipline and stays for the whole event, so the person who built the system is the person who runs it.
